In an amazing show of support,
southwestern Virginia residents clearly demonstrated that tough economic times will not
obstruct their generosity for the hungry. In just three days at the 21st Annual
Craftsmen's Classic Arts and Craft show inside the Roanoke Civic Center, hundreds of
residents showed up laden with bags of food.
After a long day spent weighing the craft show donations, the Southwestern Virginia Second
Harvest Food Bank is proud to announce that 23,788 pounds of food was donated at this
year's Craftsmen's Classic! That's a 28-percent increase from last year's total of 18,463
pounds.
Our thanks goes out to everyone who participated!
